The George Washington High School Class of 1960 reunited on August 7, 2010 in Danville, Virginia. We began in September of 1956 in the "new" school. The auditorium and gymnasium were incomplete when we started classes. Classmates came from as far away as California and Florida at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research for our 50th year after graduation. (Double click on a photograph to show a large image).

The Reunion Committee did a wonderful job. Thanks to Ralph Williams, David Luther, Patricia Poteat Glenn, Betty Bruce Bradley Lind, June Easley Daniel, Betty Scott Camp, Richard Camp, Helen Flynn Walton, and Linda Woodall Lacy.

Helen and Clem Walton were busy with taking photographs. You have one last chance to order a photograph CD $10 or a Memory Book $20, including postage, this month only. Order from Betty Bruce Lind, 125 Wilton Ave., Danville, VA 24541. Don't miss out! Following is one of the many crowd shots by Clem. I made a few crops. You can select your best picture from the CD.

Betty and Wayne Hanks of Winterville, N.C. with Danny Ricketts. Wayne and I were in the class of 1959 together through Stonewall Jackson Elementary (six years) and three years at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School. Somewhere along the line I fell back to the Class of 1960.

Here is Wayne Hanks (center) at Stonewall Jackson Elementary in 1953.

This is the Sentinel newspaper for Stonewall Jackson Elementary. Wayne and I were published as six-year-olds in 1947.

Classmate Henry Hurt's son Robert Hurt is a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. Henry encouraged us to vote for Robert in the November election for 5th District Congressman.

I believe this is the 1970 Reunion at the King of the Sea. It is fuzzy. I cut off two thirds which was ceiling and floor.
